Week 39/40 - 27/28th September Flaws of Character

Hi folks,

A little bit of a melancholic entry today, I'm recovering from an illness that had me floored for 10 days, so the spirits are a little down. I want to talk about flaws, and the significance of recognising flaws in character. There are some points in my life where I think about poor decisions I, or others have made.
I like to think I am all forgiving, but learning to genuinely forgive a grudge has been one of the hardest traits to learn. Sometimes I'm more forgiving and sometimes less, one day I will reach the balance. Anyway, that is a side story.

While studying for my undergrad I made some poor decisions that burdened my conscience (for lack of a better term). There were times I had an opportunity to practice integrity and honesty, but I didn't, partly because I didn't know who I was, but other times because I was looking at the financial benefit. The fruits of my labour were shown to me and not consequentially, but through conscientiousness. At times in life I still feel embarrassed when thinking about them. The silver lining of this is that I learned my lesson, and when the thought comes to cross my mind, I feel the same embarrassment I always felt. I now understand the impact that integrity has to my conscience.

I wanted to talk about the importance of recognising flaws, and actually learning from them. I know I'm not perfect, but I do try to best serve myself and those around me. Sometimes I, like others fail at this task. Sometimes it just takes a sting to straighten your conscientiousness. Thankfully I've learnt / am learning these things as a young adult and not later in life. (Albeit it would be handier not to have to learn them at all haha). Many of these mistakes came from not knowing who I was, and they have shaped me into knowing who I am.
I know the flow is the blog was a bit choppy today, sorry, I'm still recovering.

A good video here that helps me when I feel a little under.

Have a great week,
G
