Aug 16th - Week 34: Belief

Hi All,

I've been really busy week this week but I'm feeling great! I wanted to hop on to talk about self-belief. Following up from snowball last week, I had some huge successes this week. I tackled some topics I really struggled with in university. I finally submitted some assignments after about a month of trying them. Genuinely, there are not many better feelings than finally 'cracking the code' and having a breakthrough in understanding. I was a little rusty with my programming at it but I gritted my teeth and dug my heels into the floor, determined to challenge my preconceptions about my abilities in the subject.

There are two types of pain, pain that changes you and pain that breaks you. The first comes from struggle and an unwillingness to give up. The second comes from when you're five or ten years down the future when you realise what you could have done and that potential is lost. I know it's to say it and it's cliché, but this affects every area of your life, from physical through mental. Through the pain you realise who you are. You have to encourage yourself to persevere. You will have good and bad days. When those bad days come, by no means am I saying you have to become 100% stoic and brute force your way through, but you keep trying until you overcome your obstacle.

Anyway, I know all of this is cliché etc. etc. - but it really helps me, and hopefully it can help you too at some point.

Kind Regards,
Greg
