August 5, 2026 · Weekly Learning
Hey everyone,
I didn’t manage to write a blog last weekend. With the bank holiday on Monday I was busy with some real-world activities.
Regarding my struggle with arrays in CS50x, I’m doing the assignment for two weeks now and it’s proving to be much more difficult than I expected. My undergraduate degree was in computer science so I thought it would be easier. I’m stubborn and won’t give up without completing these assignments. I’m only able to work on them after work which is proving to be challenging. Despite this, I’m finding it a great exercise in self-driven learning. I’m watching videos on header files and reading a lot of documentation, which is really pushing me out of my comfort zone. I’m creating mini programs to understand concepts and then applying them to the main problem sets. I’ve also been looking into picking a book on C programming, if anyone has any recommendations let me know!
It sounds silly, but sometimes you just have to start over. It’s like when you haven’t exercised for a few months and need to re-learn how to train.
Speaking of which, I’m also back in the gym a bit more. It’s been over four months since rehab and resting, and it’s really nice to be back. I’m also doing a lot of cardio. I’m feeling quite positive overall.
I’m really getting my life back on track. It’s been thrown around a bit over the last few months. I’m making progress on the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson and I can’t wait to finish it.
I’ll have a new update for you next week (hopefully with Arrays finished).
Have a great week -
Greg
